How to book in France
Vaccinations are given by your medecin traitant, a paediatrician, a free PMI centre (Protection Maternelle et Infantile) for under-6s, or a centre de vaccination. Bring the carnet de sante. Pharmacists and nurses can now also give many vaccines.

When: From 1 month
Who: Recommended (no longer mandatory) for children at higher risk of TB - for example those born in or with family from a high-incidence country, or living in Ile-de-France, Guyane or Mayotte.
When: Every autumn, from 2 years
Who: Recommended for all children aged 2-17, with a nasal spray option, and free for children with chronic conditions.

About the France schedule
Since 2018, France requires 11 infant vaccines for all children born from 1 January 2018. They must be given in the first two years and are needed for entry to nursery, school and other group childcare. The calendar is set by the Ministry of Health with advice from the Haute Autorite de Sante (HAS).
Most doses are given by the family doctor, paediatrician or PMI (Protection Maternelle et Infantile) centre at 2, 4 and 11 months, with measles-mumps-rubella at 12 and 16-18 months and boosters at 6 and 11-13 years.

Reading the timeline
Ages such as "8 weeks" or "12 months" are the recommended target ages. In practice, appointments can fall a little before or after, and being a few weeks late is common and easily caught up - contact your local service rather than waiting for the next scheduled set. Where a vaccine needs several doses, each one builds on the last; the immune protection is only complete once the full course (including any booster) is given.
If your child is behind
Almost every dose still counts no matter how much time has passed, and there is a catch-up route for children who have missed vaccines or who have moved from another country. Bring whatever record you have to a GP or clinic and they will work out the shortest path back onto the schedule.
